Privacy policy. How, what and why?

Your personal data and privacy is of the utmost importance to Meroso Foods. This Policy is not only a legal shield to make our site General Data Protection Regulation (Hereafter: GDPR) compliant. No, this is our ‘datastory’. Hereafter we’ll carefully explain what data we’ll process and how we take care of and protect this data.

With this Policy we want to inform you about our data policy. This enables you, the user, to make an informed choice to (or not to) use our services. Consequentially, if you use our services we assume that you agree with our Policy.

Who processes the data?

The GDPR calls us the controller. This means, in short, that we decide what kind of data, how and by which means it is processed. Not only that, we also set out the reasons why we want that data to be processed.

Who helps us?

Processors, a clear GDPR-term. Who helps us, under our auspices, to process the data? That’s what it means. But there’s no reason to be afraid, all of our processors have agreed, personally or generally, to follow the rules laid out in the GDPR:

LNS is the motor of our site.

Which kinds of data do we process?

1. Types of data we collect

  • Name
  • Email
  • Company name
  • Location Data
  • IP-Address

2. Why do we collect this data?

We don’t collect this data without a reason. We do it because we want to deliver you an optimal experience with the data we collect.

We make sure that your website visit can happen as secure as possible. That’s why we use certain data, like the IP-Address, to monitor the site. Fraud and other bad intentions are monitored and, as much as possible, prevented.

The most important reason we gather your name, email and company name is to deliver you the information you requested.

Google Analytics gathers data to deliver us insights in how the visitors use our website. Statistical data processing is how we call it. IP-addresses, pages that are visited by the machines that have those addresses, locations of those machines and the moment of visit are all processed.

We can pass on any data, in accordance with the GDPR, for means relating to ‘crime prevention’.

What can you do? What are your rights?

1. Right of access

Your data will remain your property. That’s why you can ask us to get access to your data that we collected and how, why and for how long we processed the data. You will be able to know exactly how we assess and what happens with your data.

You can send your request for access to info@meroso.be and we will get back to you within two months after your request with every single piece of data on you that we’ve collected.

2. Right to change, or to remove your personal data

You always have the ability to correct your data, or even to remove it. This can be the case, for example, when you have made a new email or moved to a new, different location with your company.

Some of your data we just can’t remove as easy as other data. Here we are talking about data that we collected on the basis of legal obligations (eg. Accounting) or on the basis of a contract (eg. if we still need to deliver an order).

Of course, data that we ever collected in an unlawfully manner, will be removed as soon as possible. Every other request will be granted without any unreasonable delay.

For requests to change or remove data please contact us by email (info@meroso.be).

3. Right to limit of or objection against the processing

If you have sent us a request of removal, if the data is unlawfully processed or if the data is needed for an action at law, you can ask a limitation of processing. This request needs to be addressed to the above mentioned communication channels and we will limit the processing within two months after this request.

You do not want us to process your data? If this is the case, you can make your objection via the above mentioned communication channels and we will as soon as possible, maximum within 2 months, stop with the processing of your data. Again, exceptions here are those for the data collected on the basis of legal obligations and/or on the basis of a contract.

4. Right to limit of or objection to the processing

You have the right to receive your data we collected in a structured, conventional and machine-readable way. In this way you can hand over your data to other data controllers.

5. Right to withdraw your consent

Your permission can be withdrawn at any time. Of course, this has only repercussions for the data that we collected merely on the basis of your consent. The data that we collected on the basis of legal obligations or on the basis of an agreement are not within the scope of the aforementioned right of withdrawal of consent.

Complaints on how we process your data need to be reported to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be).

We reserve the right to change and update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any such changes will be posted on this Website. Changes to the Privacy Policy are effective at the time they are posted to this Website, and your continued use of this Website shall signify your acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, those changes.
